Henderson leaders said this week the city is poised to gain more than 1,000 jobs, including through the new Haas Automation plant now under construction, according to KTNV. The announcement came at the 82nd annual State of Commerce luncheon, where officials laid out a growth picture that leans heavily on manufacturing and industrial investment.
The Haas project matters because it signals a different kind of economic development for the Las Vegas valley. Instead of relying only on hospitality and gaming, Henderson is adding production and engineering jobs that can broaden the local economy and offer a different ladder for workers.
