Autonomous robotaxis are now scheduled to begin airport trips this week, adding a new transportation option for travelers heading to and from the Strip.
Las Vegas is about to get another test of its self-driving future. Zoox said autonomous robotaxis will begin trips to and from Harry Reid International Airport on Thursday, Sept. 3, according to FOX5 and KSNV.
The launch matters because the airport is one of the region’s most important gateways, especially for newcomers arriving without a rental car and for residents who rely on rideshare apps. Zoox said the service will operate from Terminals 1 and 3 and take passengers to the Strip, bringing driverless transportation into one of the valley’s busiest travel corridors.
The move also places Las Vegas squarely in the center of the national conversation about autonomous mobility. Unlike a pilot tucked away in a business park, this rollout puts the technology in front of tourists, convention-goers and locals who use the airport every day.
For a city built on constant motion, the change could be more than a novelty. If the service proves reliable, it may give travelers another way to move between the airport and the Strip while adding to the growing list of tech-forward conveniences that are quietly reshaping how Las Vegas works.
