North Las Vegas launches free Hispanic Heritage Month festival

The city is kicking off a month of celebrations with a park festival and community events aimed at drawing families across the valley.

North Las Vegas is opening Hispanic Heritage Month with a free festival and a full slate of community events, giving residents a low-cost way to celebrate culture, music and local pride. FOX5 reported that the city’s sixth annual observance begins with a massive park festival and continues with programs throughout the month.

The centerpiece is set for Saturday, Sept. 19, at Craig Ranch Regional Park, where the city will host its annual celebration. According to the Las Vegas Sun, the event is scheduled for 3 p.m. and marks the sixth year North Las Vegas has put the festival on the calendar.

For families settling into the valley, the event is the kind of civic tradition that helps a city feel smaller and more connected. It also reflects how North Las Vegas has increasingly used parks and public programming to reach residents where they live, rather than asking them to head to the Strip for a night out.

With free admission and a neighborhood setting, the festival offers something increasingly valuable in Southern Nevada: a public event that feels local, welcoming and easy to attend.
