The Palms has added a fully enclosed non-smoking casino area, expanding a growing niche on the Strip while raising money for local charities.
The Palms Casino Resort has opened a new 7,300-square-foot, fully enclosed non-smoking gaming area, according to KTNV, KSNV and the Las Vegas Sun. The space adds more than 200 slot games and gives the off-Strip property a fresh way to compete for players who want to gamble without cigarette smoke.
The opening reflects a broader shift in Las Vegas gaming, where smoke-free rooms are becoming a more visible draw. KTNV reported that the Palms’ new area is enclosed and fully non-smoking, while the Sun noted it is now the valley’s second-largest smoke-free casino space, behind only a fully nonsmoking property.
The resort also used the debut to support the community, raising $35,000 for charities, according to KSNV. That combination of amenity upgrade and philanthropy is becoming part of the modern casino playbook, especially as operators look to broaden their appeal beyond the traditional gaming crowd.
For locals and visitors alike, the development is another sign that Las Vegas casinos are tailoring the floor experience more aggressively. Whether the draw is comfort, health or simply a quieter gaming room, the Palms is betting that smoke-free play has real staying power.
