After winning the U.S. championship Saturday, the squad fell to Curaçao in Sunday’s World Series Championship, according to KLAS, ending a run that had already put the Valley on the national stage.
The team’s path through Williamsport drew outsized attention in Southern Nevada, where youth baseball has become a point of local pride. KSNV reported that the team advanced with a walkoff win in the Mountain Region bracket, while KLAS said the U.S. title set up Sunday’s final against Curaçao.
The celebration followed the team back home, too. KSNV reported that Paseo Verde received a grand welcome at Harry Reid International Airport after winning the U.S. championship, with supporters gathering to greet the players.
